„Offen für alle. Finale auf Weltcup-Niveau.“
BACK 2 SCHOOL verbindet Community und Wettkampf: Hobby-Kletterer*innen und Profis starten in derselben offenen Qualifikation, gemeinsam an denselben Wänden – keine Isolation, keine nationalen Kontingente. Aus diesem einen Ergebnis entstehen zwei Wertungen: Die besten 6 Frauen und 6 Männer erreichen das Masters-Finale im Weltcup-Format. Zusätzlich werden die besten 3 Frauen und 3 Männer ohne aktiven Kader-Status mit dem Hobby Award ausgezeichnet, direkt aus dem Quali-Ergebnis, ohne eigenen Finaldurchgang.
Die Location: das Flash ist Wiens neueste Boulderhalle (Eröffnung August 2025) und die erste, die Breiten- und Spitzensport bewusst zusammen denkt. Die Halle dient gleichzeitig als Trainings- und Wettkampfstätte für den Leistungssport in Ostösterreich. BACK 2 SCHOOL Vol 2 ist das erste internationale Boulder-Event, das hier stattfindet.
Eine offene Qualifikation, in der Hobby-Kletterer*innen und internationale Profis gemeinsam an den Start gehen, gibt es im Wiener Boulderbereich bisher nicht. BACK 2 SCHOOL Vol 2 ist der Versuch, das zu ändern.

• Aus dem Quali-Ranking werden zwei Wertungen gebildet: Gesamt-Ranking (Basis für das Masters-Finale) und Hobby-Ranking ohne aktive Kader-Athlet:innen (Basis für den Hobby Award)
• Masters-Finalquote: 6 (Top 6 W / 6 M)

BACK 2 SCHOOL combines community and competition: hobby climbers and pros compete in the same open qualification, together on the same walls – no isolation, no national quotas. Two rankings emerge from this single result: the top 6 women and 6 men advance to the Masters Final in World Cup format. In addition, the top 3 women and 3 men without active national team status receive the Hobby Award, based directly on the qualification result, without a separate final round.
The location: das Flash is Vienna’s newest bouldering gym (opened August 2025) and the first to deliberately bring recreational and elite sport together. The gym also serves as a training and competition venue for elite climbing in eastern Austria. BACK 2 SCHOOL Vol 2 is the first international bouldering event to take place here.
An open qualification in which hobby climbers and international pros compete side by side has not existed in Vienna’s bouldering scene so far. BACK 2 SCHOOL Vol 2 is an attempt to change that.

• Two rankings are created from the qualification results: overall ranking (basis for the Masters Final) and Hobby ranking excluding active national team athletes (basis for the Amateur Award)
• Masters final quota: 6 (top 6 W / 6 M)
• Hobby Award: top 3 W / 3 M, no additional final round. Separate ranking for 40+.
• Difficulty levels are set by the international routesetting team.
